Innovation & Sustainability on the Farm: Avocado Farm Hosts American Farm Bureau Tour
Farmers from across the U.S. arrived at Stewart’s Avocado Farm for a hands-on tour hosted in partnership with the American Farm Bureau and PRM. The event highlighted California’s agricultural innovation and sustainable practices, giving participants an inside look at how modern avocado farms are adapting to increase productivity and resilience.
Event Highlights
Stewart’s Avocados – A family-operated, organic grove demonstrating:
- Advanced irrigation systems & diversified water portfolio
- Biological soil management practices (PRM)
- Energy-efficient solutions
Most memorable moment: One farmer from across the country spotted the snow-capped mountains and asked, “What’s that white thing?” Many attendees were amazed to see that Southern California has snow, expanding the scope of the SoCal farm tour experience.

A big thank you to everyone who made this tour a success, including our hosts, farmers who attended, and the American Farm Bureau who are all helping to showcase innovation and sustainability in agriculture. Finally, thank you to Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for opening the door to these relationships through their One-Water Committee and Innovation Conservation Program [ICP].
