Giants Earn Historic IPMA Award with PRM’s BIOS

The San Francisco Giants have made history as the first professional sports field to receive California’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Achievement Award from the Department of Pesticide Regulation. This milestone is a win not only for the team but also for the future of sustainable sports.

PRM is honored to have partnered with the Giants’ world-class grounds crew to bring a soil-first, nature based approach to Oracle Park. By adopting new, innovative soil technology, the team has achieved results that benefit performance of the field and increase profit for the franchise:

  • 90% reduction in pesticide use
  • 60% reduction in synthetic fertilizers
  • Stronger, denser, more resilient turf built on healthy soil

For fans, this means a greener, healthier ballpark that continues to deliver an incredible playing surface – and more. Oracle Park is home to over 300 events each year including: golf, soccer, rugby, concerts, and many more. For the turf industry, the Giants have proved that profitability and high performance don’t have to be at odds.

This award highlights what’s possible when innovation, stewardship, and teamwork come together. We’re proud to celebrate with the Giants and look forward to driving turf solutions that increase performance and profitability across the sports industry – and beyond.
